Installation
Install and activate JobPress, then find the jobs page it creates for you.
JobPress installs like any other WordPress plugin.
Install from WordPress.org
- In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add New.
- Search for “JobPress”.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
Install from a zip
- Download the latest release from wordpress.org/plugins/jobpress.
- Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
- Choose the zip, click Install Now, then Activate.
What activation does
On activation JobPress automatically:
- Adds a JobPress menu to wp-admin, with All Jobs, Add New Job, Job Categories, Job Types, and Settings.
- Creates a Jobs Listing page and selects it as your Jobs Page. In Pages, it is marked Jobs Page.
- Refreshes your site’s permalinks so job URLs work straight away.
If a page with the slug jobs-listing already exists, JobPress uses it instead
of creating a second one. Updates re-run the same check, so the Jobs Page comes
back if it went missing.
Requirements
WordPress 5.6+ (tested up to 7.1) and PHP 7.4+. The JobPress Jobs block needs WordPress 6.3+.
Confirm your jobs page
Go to JobPress → Settings → General and check that Jobs Page points at the right page, then click Save Changes. While logged in, the Visit Jobs link in the admin bar opens that page.
Next, add your first job.
Troubleshooting 404s
If job pages return a 404, go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes to refresh the URLs. Do the same after you switch from plain to pretty permalinks.
