FAQ
Common questions about JobPress - price, requirements, applications, themes, page builders, and your data.
Is JobPress free?
Yes. JobPress is free and open source on WordPress.org, including all five listing designs, the block, and the Elementor widget.
What are the requirements?
WordPress 5.6+ and PHP 7.4+. The JobPress Jobs block needs WordPress 6.3+. Tested up to WordPress 7.1.
How do candidates apply?
By email or with a form. Each job either shows your email instructions or a Contact Form 7 form, or falls back to the Resume Submit Instruction in Settings. Contact Form 7 is the only form plugin supported for now. See How candidates apply.
Where do applications go?
JobPress doesn’t store applications. With email instructions, candidates email you directly. With a Contact Form 7 form, the form sends each application to the address in its Mail tab.
Does it work with my theme?
JobPress works with classic and block themes. On block themes such as Twenty
Twenty-Five, job pages show the theme’s header and footer. Developers can
override JobPress templates by copying them into a jobpress folder in the
theme.
Should I use the block, the shortcode, or the Elementor widget?
They show the same listing with the same options and defaults. Use the block in the block editor, the widget in Elementor, and the shortcode anywhere else.
Can I show only some jobs on a page?
Yes. Every listing can filter by category, job type, or hand-picked jobs, and limit and order them. See Choosing the jobs.
Can I use different designs on one page?
Yes. Each listing can pick its own design, and listings with different designs can share a page.
What happens to my jobs if I delete the plugin?
Deleting JobPress removes its settings but keeps your jobs, categories, types,
and the Jobs Page, so reinstalling brings everything back. To remove those too,
add define( 'JOBPRESS_REMOVE_ALL_DATA', true ); to wp-config.php before
deleting the plugin.
My job pages return 404s. What do I do?
Go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes to refresh the URLs.
